Growing up, my favorite part of traveling to different places was seeing and experiencing the cool buildings. One of my fondest childhood memories was going to Disney World and experiencing the Epcot ball. I remember being completely amazed by a building that was somehow shaped like a ball. As I have grown older, my love for different types of building structures has never gone away. I have decided that the career path I strive for most is architecture. I want to be an architect to see the smile on people's faces when their creative ideas become a reality.

Since I knew that I was interested in architecture, I focused on academic subjects that would benefit me for my future. I have taken several dual enrollment classes that will aid to the courses I need for architecture. I attend Washington County High School which may be in a rural area, but is filled with educators and administration that care for the best interest of their students. Being apart of Family, Career and Community Leaders of America has equipped me with the necessary skills to promote personal growth and leadership development.

I have been taught by my parents that giving back with community service is one of the best ways to benefit your community. As someone who has always been involved with volleyball, one of my favorite volunteer projects that I am a part of is the Washington County Youth Volleyball organization. Through this program I have helped many young girls learn how to play volleyball and be a better teammate.

Throughout high school, the thing that has shaped me into the person I have become has been the extracurricular activities in which I have been involved. They have helped me to lead efficiently, problem solve, and engage in activities that elevate me outside of the classroom.

At Washington County High School, students are taught to work hard academically but be involved in things outside of the classroom. Since I have been taught to involve myself outside of the classroom, I am taking the tools that have helped me to succeed throughout high school into college.

Being involved in my community helped me to strengthen my connection with the people across my town and county. It is a very rewarding experience to be able to positively impact my community. Involvement in my community has taught me several skills that will benefit me in college and eventually as an architect.
